  2. As stated, we need to put in efforts to identify drivers of our employees. It is important for employee to know that his goals are in line with the organisation. This can be done by spending adequate time in goal setting for organisation so that employees are able to identify their roles and the unique value that they will add in achievement of organisation goals.

    On another hand, though the effects of carrots/sticks may wear off after some time, we need to realise that there have to be carrots and sticks all along so that an employee knows he is moving in the right direction. Sometimes even identifying and appreciating an employees efforts could go a long way...
